Summer time has arrived in the Netherlands and is the perfect time for Sangria. Normally I make my Sangria with red wine, but I found out a delicious recipe for a similar taste without using any alcohol at all. The base for my favourite sangria recipe is a mix of berries combined with orange, star anise, and cinnamon. Normally I make a syrup out of this one which you can also save for later. Also, perfect to combine with soda water for a refreshing drink. If you rather make quick waffles using this recipe you can also use the syrup from Belvoir which has a spiced winter berry cordial, which is perfect to use for this recipe. Serve these waffles with some low-fat quark for a delicious fresh dish.
