At the end of November and start of December, I just love buying fresh mandarines. The flavour around that time is the sweetest and I eat baskets of them. Next to eating them as they are I love adding the juice to my quark or for example cheesecake like I did for this waffle recipe. Perfect sweet dessert and great to serve with caramelised mandarine slices, unless you burn them like I did sadly. Still, the flavour was amazing. Happy Waffle Wednesday.
Mandarin Orange Blossom Water Waffles
200g cream cheese
100g white chocolate (melted au bain marie)
1 tsp. orange blossom water
2 tbsp. mandarin juice
Mix together the cream cheese, chocolate, egg and sugar in a bowl. Gently add in the flour until combined. Add the orange blossom water and mandarin juice until combined. Heat up your waffle iron and bake a generous tablespoon of batter for one waffle. It’s best to let them cool down before serving for maximum flavour. Serve with extra slices of mandarin or grill some slices in the oven. Enjoy!
