A waffle in a waffle. Insert Inception ‘pun’ here. We thought about making a waffle with a typical Dutch classic cookie and we decided to use stroopwafels (syrup waffle) for in the batter. Originally we bought them for family coming over but decided to save a few for these waffles. We decided to serve them in little chunks to the guests. And that might be another idea for a new recipe coming up in the near future.
100g low-fat quark
1 egg white
50ml almond milk
1 tsp. baking soda
6 mini stroopwafels (chopped in little chunks)
1 tsp. pumpkin spice
large pinch of sea salt
Mix all the ingredients minus the stroopwafels together in a bowl. Add the chunks of stroopwafels and mix thoroughlt. Heat up your waffle iron and bake a generous tablespoon of batter for one waffle. Bake until you’re out of batter or just eat up the leftovers. My favorite part of baking. Serve with extra quark or chop them up in small chunks and serve them with coffee. Enjoy!
