‘We like hashtags because it reminds us of waffles‘ #Itiswafflewednesdayagain. While you guys are reading this we’ll be driving to Italy. We won’t be in the Netherlands for the coming week, but we’ve got a few recipes covered to keep you updated. And we might post some delicious dishes we try out in Italy to share with you on Instagram. Today we’ve got another savory waffle recipe and this time with Heks’nkaas (Witch cheese), a typical Dutch cheese spread with dill and celery. Add salmon and you’ve got a great lunch or dinner. We’ve made a stack for in the car ;) . Enjoy your day everyone.
Hold-your-waffle-Wednesday 13 // Heksnkaas Waffles with smoked salmon
2 tbsp. Heks’nkaas (or cream cheese with herbs)
80g low-fat quark
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. chopped chive
100g smoked salmon (chopped in small chunks)
This will be a piece of cake. Just add all the ingredients together in a bowl. Heat up your waffle iron and bake a generous tablespoon of batter until you’ve got nothing left. Plate up and serve with some extra cream cheese with chopped chive and salmon on top. Enjoy!
